Taste of PalestineThis Saturday, sees the start of the countdown to probably the most important festival in the Christian Calendar.  It is also significant for the Consumer Calendar, a way point for the year’s most important consumer frenzy - the highest period of retail staff employment, the first signs of a warm glow in the hearts of chiropodists, cobblers and shoe sellers who know that shoes, feet, their repair and replacement will be on the agenda for weary shoppers.

Kazbah has a much better idea that will provide satisfaction for both the soul and the consumer in you, and all in one place.

This weekend, go to “A Taste of Palestine”, at SOAS off Russell Square and shop from the homeland of Jesus Christ.  A Taste of Palestine is organised by Zaytoun and hosted by SOAS, it promises a feast of gifts, from food and wine to holidays.

Shop to your heart’s content, from a wide range of books, art, music, all natural Nablusi soap, jewellery, ceramics, clothing, embroidery, olive wood carvings, and much more from different regions of Palestine; then book a holiday and have lunch – our favourite café Maramia will be there.

Above all, feel good, because it’s Fair Trade and supports beleaguered Palestine.

Nearest Tubes: Russell Square, Goodge Street. SOAS is on Thornhaugh Street off Russell Square. Link to Map

Zaytoun is a Fair Trade, not for profit business supporting Palestinian olive farmers with infrastructure and finding a market for their produce in the UK.  For more information  click for their website.
